EVENT CHANGE!

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE REGARDING THE DIGITAL MEDIA SUMMIT ON NOVEMBER 2ND:

We regret to announce that due to complications following Hurricane Sandy, the open-to-the public afternoon portion of Digital Media Summit scheduled for Friday, November 2nd has been postponed.

Unfortunately, the state-wide devastation and pending restoration from the storm has given us no choice but to withdraw from our participation in the event. Not only is it important for us to uphold a certain level of value in our programming, but to ensure the safety of all our attendees and vendors as well.

Please note that Center for 21st Century Skills will STILL be holding their morning event on November 2 for schools/students. Students can register here: http://www.skills21.org/dms2012/

Thank you so much for all your interest and enthusiasm regarding DMS - we hope everyone stayed safe during the storm and look forward to seeing you at another PCONN event soon!

ProductionCONN 2011 Opens its Doors TOMORROW!

PCONN's Jeremy & Josh Hanging Signs at Set-Up
ProductionCONN staff, exhibitors, and partners have been busy at work setting up for tomorrow's opening day--after over a year and a half of tireless planning, it's finally here!

Online ticket sales are now closed, but you may register at the door! (Students & teachers--be sure to bring your ID to receive 50% off on-site registration.) Think you may want to take an additional workshop once you get here? All attendees may also add on to their existing programs at any time, just look for one of our staffers to assist you (we'll all be dressed in jeans and black shirts as a thinly-veiled homage to Steve Jobs). Doors open Wednesday at 10AM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (100 Berlin Rd., Cromwell, CT 06416).

Here are some of the highlights to expect from this event:

Jem Schofield and Josh Apter Dish About ProductionCONN on theC47's gearbox.

Jem Schofield, founder of theC47 and host of daily video podcast gearbox, and Manhattan Edit Workshop's Josh Apter share laughs and insightful information as they dish about ProductionCONN 2011.

We're excited to have Jem present two workshops at PCONN 2011: Introduction to DSLR Filmmaking and Video Podcasting & Using Social Networks.

Introduction to DSLR Filmmaking is an in-depth workshop which will cover pre-production and planning for HD-DSLR filmmaking, shooting tips and tricks, and post-production utilizing the latest tools on the market. Learn about new cameras, shooting accessories, and software to aid in your workflow as you master both basic and advanced techniques of digital cinema production.

Video Podcasting & Using Social Networks will provide an inside look at what goes into today’s video podcasts as well as how you can use podcasting as a new avenue for content distribution on the Internet.

Introduction to DSLR Filmmaking and Video Podcasting & Using Social Networks are just two of ProductionCONN's featured workshops. Other classes include Producing for Editors, Editing for Producers, Making Ear Candy, 3D Titling in Post-Production, 3D Production, Motion Tracking for Editing, Effects and Motion Graphics, Media Management and Data Wrangling, and Production Assistant 101: Lighting and Grip on the Set.

"It's a big show...it's about education, it's about toys for grown-up guys [and gals!] who like cameras and junk, and it's called ProductionCONN."  ~Josh Apter, Manhattan Edit Workshop

ProductionCONN is November 30th-December 1st and is centrally located near Hartford, CT. Haven't registered yet? Take advantage of our early bird pricing and get your tickets today! (Students are eligible for a 50% discount!)

This is a trade show in your own backyard! PCONN is not a user group event, nor is it a conference with just a state-wide reach. ProductionCONN has become an industry-recognized trade show that we are so proud to share with you. Please support our digital media community and seize the opportunity to experience an event you'd otherwise have to travel hours and spend a lot of dough to enjoy!
